Project Overview
Search engines facilitate easy navigation of large information environments such as the Web. The aim of this project was to create a cluster-based search engine that dynamically allocates the roles of querying and indexing to cluster nodes.The project was divided into two clearly separable parts:

The Indexing Module Developer: Ndapandula Nakashole

The Querying Module Developer: Calvin Pedzai

Both the indexing and querying modules use a dispatcher which is responsible for load-balancing. This deployment can be seen in the diagram below. Highlighted in blue are the parts that make up the indexing module. The cluster nodes shown in blue are the nodes allocated to indexing at particular time; these change as the load of the system changes. The parts shown in orange collectively make up the querying module.
