The key aim of WordBank is to develop a Web-based system to collect and preserve languages. The project comprises of three components with two distinct interfaces, namely: a Web interface and a cellphone interface from which users can submit and/or retrieve language data to and/or from the back-end.

WordBank - A Language Preservation Portal is a Computer Science Honours project which was undertaken by Morwan Mohamed Nour, Jorgina Paihama and Lebeko Poulo at the University of Cape Town in 2008. The project was proposed and supervised by Dr Hussein Suleman.
